Peter Kooman managing principal

Experience

Before co-founding Tonka Bay in 1998, Peter gained significant operating experience while managing a portfolio of private companies for the Cargill/MacMillan family office. He previously worked in the leveraged finance and merchant banking groups of U.S. Bank, and he began his career at Fleet Bank.

Education

Peter is a graduate of Wheaton College, Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, and the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Interests

Peter values his time outdoors when not at work. He is an avid golfer during the spring and summer, and in the colder months, Peter can be found walking the fields hunting upland game birds.

When not at home on weekends, Peter and his family spend quality time at their lake cabin which is a wonderful balance to a busy work schedule. Peter is also committed to his church and is active in men's ministries.
